A 501(c)(3) Religious & Cultural Organization · Est. 2021
Founded in the sacred union of Aña and Olofí — the drum that announces the priest to the heavens, and the Orisha without whom no man becomes Babalawo. The house that bears their names exists to strengthen, preserve, and transmit the living traditions of the African diaspora.
Who We Are
Ilé Aña Olofí wants us to work together to strengthen and share the beauty of African Diaspora religious traditions while using them to create pathways for positive change.
Aña, the Orisha of the drum, and Olofí, the Orisha manifesting the Almighty, are the two sacred pillars chosen for this house's name. With Aña, every Olorisha undergoes a sacred ritual presentation that announces the new priest to the heavens and confirms initiation. With Olofí, every man who seeks to become a Babalawo must see this Orisha. Without these two, the Lucumí religion would not exist as we know and love it. The house has been built on both, and the work it sponsors reflects that dual foundation.
