Rootin’ for Justice Project
The Rootin’ for Justice™ Project is an expansion of our earlier Serving Justice Project. Our focus is freeing the wrongfully convicted and wrongfully incarcerated black men and women. We are NOT talking about getting people out on technicalities. We will use our Gods, our prayers, our courageous acts, and our knowledge to effect the needed changes for justice. Our efforts are directed to three main avenues to provoke change:
1) highlighting of and advocating on current legal cases through partnerships with other innocence-focused organizations, 2) actively participating in ongoing legal cases around the country through legal research and amicus briefs, 3) using African spiritual and magical arts to create direct change in the lives and cases of the wrongfully convicted. There are many spirits who operate within a justice framework that can be petitioned to intercede on behalf of those that have been railroaded by an unjust justice system with a peculiar penchant for abusing just us. We are doing just what it sounds like we are doing: using old-school root-work, juju, if you will, to free our people who have been stolen once again.
